Willem de Rooij marks the death of Piet Mondrian (February 1, 1944) with a brief procession in Manhattan, guiding participants from where the artist passed, to a nearby piano bar for a live boogie-woogie tribute, Mondrian’s favorite music. Framed by astrology’s reflective lens, the walk opens with a public handout and short spoken reading of a newly commissioned death horoscope, set in dialogue with Mondrian’s birth horoscope.
