Performa, the internationally acclaimed organization dedicated to live performance by visual artists, has announced the full program for the Performa 2025 Biennial. Running from November 1–23, 2025, across New York City, the eleventh edition of the Biennial will bring together 54 artists and collectives from around the globe and mark the organization’s 20th anniversary.
Over three weeks, the Performa 2025 Biennial will turn New York into a stage for experimentation, with artists from diverse backgrounds, generations, and disciplines presenting new commissions, collaborations, and projects in partnership with leading cultural institutions across the city. This year’s program highlights Performa’s role as a platform for groundbreaking live work while celebrating two decades of shaping the field of performance. The Biennial will also feature a slate of signature programs that reflect the festival’s international scope and experimental edge. The Performa Commissions will debut ambitious new works developed over two years of collaboration with artists. The Lithuanian Pavilion Without Walls will spotlight contemporary voices from Lithuania. The Performa Hub will act as the festival’s central gathering place for talks, screenings, and live events, including the launch of Performa Studio, a space for the Movement School, an open platform for rehearsals, workshops, and collective inquiry, uniting choreography, somatic practices, and sound.
