Chris Williams is an interdisciplinary artist and improviser based in Brooklyn often collaborating with contemporary dancers, sound artists and other experimentalists. His work explores the dyad of ancestral trauma and power existing in all Black Americans. Williams uses a mix of trumpet, electronics, and text to create sonic tapestries in his performances. He has worked with a wide range of artists including H x H with Lester St Louis and History Dog (with Luke Stewart, Lesley Mok, and Shara Lunon).
David Watson is primarily known for bringing the highland bagpipes into the twenty-first century and making it integral to long-form improvised and creative music. He has collaborated with many dance projects, notably with Moriah Evans (Repose on Rockaway Beach, Restos in Bogota, and Encounter) and Jamar Roberts Cooped. He has worked with extraordinary artists like Robert Ashley, Christian Marclay, Sean Meehan, Ikue Mori, Bill Nace, Lee Ranaldo amongst many others. Since 2016 he has organized and presented hundreds of new music concerts in New York, under the auspices of WOrK, Shift, FourOneOne, and now Striped Light.
